    It may not feel like May is just around the corner with driving rain and a cold northerly wind driving us off our allotments this Saturday, but nature is doing its best to be true to spring. Not much seems to be growing in my patch yet but the wild garlic has ignored the cold and wet and has been the one sure winner so far this year.

    So looking further afield I hope you find this link to a list of bluebell woods in Hertfordshire interesting. There is something magical about walking along a path with bluebells either side and is worth getting up early for to catch the sun at a low angle illuminating the forest with morning rays of sunshine.
