DIARY DATES 2026

Activities and Events for 2026 are shown below. Please make a note in your calendar, diary or mobile.   Members, prospective members, your families and friends are very welcome and encouraged to actively become involved. Volunteers will always be welcomed in helping out with our activities and events.

 

Tuesday 17 February. Plot Inspections at North Field – 11am. South Field at 2pm

Wednesday 18 February. Plot Inspection at Stanhope Road – 11am

 

Saturday 21 and Sunday 22 February. North and South Field; Members Work Party Weekend. Volunteers are asked to come along at 11am to 1pm. Clear winter rubbish, boundaries and take on field tasks. Make sure your names are registered in attending. Winter Warmer and Glug Wine available from Trading Hut South Field. Check Field Notice Boards for any date changes.

 

Saturday 14 and Sunday 15 March. North and South Field, Members Working Party Weekend 11am to 1pm.Continuation from February Work Party. Check Field Notice Boards for any date changes.

 

Sunday 15 March. Main Water supply to be turned on.

 

Sunday 29 March. British Summer Time starts, plus 1 hour!

 

Friday 3 April to Monday 6 April – Easter Bank Holiday weekend. Time to sow first and second earlies.

 

Wednesday 15 April Committee Meeting. 7pm Members Pavilion North Field. Volunteers to serve on Committee 2026/27 welcomed.

 

ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING

WEDNESDAY 6 May 2026

The Annual General Meeting for Brook Farm Allotments, and Stanhope Road Allotments open to all members will be held on Wednesday 6 May 2026. Doors open from 7pm Meeting to start at 7.30pm in the Members Pavilion, North Field, N20.

 

Duration expected to be two hours. Committee Members are asked to attend from 6.45pm to set out seating, refreshments etc.

 

All Members of Brook Farm and Stanhope Road Allotments are encouraged to attend. Note:- You can submit in advance or voice issues for discussion at the AGM. We welcome plot holder’s proposals, suggestions including constructive criticism.

 

Voting – Committee Members will retire on rotation at the AGM in line with the Constitution. Any member can volunteer to be a Committee Member.

We are always keen to hear from members wishing to volunteer in filling these important positions within Brook Farm and Stanhope Road Allotments. Please let us know by midday Wednesday 15 April 2026 that you wish to be considered, this to prepare (if required) ballot papers and proxy voters in time for the AGM.

 

As a Member of the Allotment, it is in your interest to attend the AGM. In doing so it gives you the opportunity to quiz the Committee and at the same time meet and talk with other members.

 

Light refreshments will be available after the meeting. Those wishing to help are very welcome, please speak with Annie, Collette or Janice.

Saturday 6 June. Field Meetings

Members only Field Meetings at both North Field (Pavilion) 11am and at South Field (Trading Hut) 1pm. Stanhope Road Allotments Sunday 8 June at 11am. An opportunity to question the Committee and raise field issues.

BROOK FARM ALLOTMENTS

OPEN DAY

Saturday 18 JULY 2026

 

Friday 17 July. Preparation Brook Farm Open Day. Set out Open Day from 4pm.

 

Saturday 18 July.    Brook Farm Open Day - South Field

The Allotments will be open from 11am to 4pm and allow our neighbours, friends, and the public to come along and see what allotment gardening all is about. If you can help in advertising the Open Day Please let us kow.   Everyone likes to have a ‘look over the fence’. Events will be centred at South Field.

 

Activities:- Refreshments, Children’s quiz, painting and gardening experience, Plant Stall, Books for sale, guided tours of South and North Field. Raffle, and bbq.

Note:- it would be good if members were to sow and pot up some extra plants to have ready for sale at this time. Peas, beans, lettuce being but a few examples.

 

Entry to the allotments is free, donations and money raised going to a local charity. We will finish the day with a members’ bbq between 3pm to 6pm at which all plot holders, family are invited. 

 

Your help in setting up on Friday and Saturday is welcome.

 

Open Days are also important in enabling all of our members to have the opportunity to meet and discuss the future of our allotments, what we do, how we do it and what we can do in future years. An opportunity to gather in a social way and promote allotment gardening.

AUTUMN PRODUCE SHOW

Friday 11 September. Preparation. Set out tables, show benches, tentage from 4pm.

 

Saturday 12 September 2026.   Brook Farm Autumn Produce Show.

Members Pavilion North Field 

This is our own local show which has become a regular feature and is especially designed for all members here at Brook Farm.   We will set up the tables, tents etc on Friday 11 September with entries accepted from 9.30am to midday on Saturday 12 September. 

Judging will take place between midday and 2pm followed by results announced by 4pm. 

Viewing exhibits from 2.15pm inside pavilion.

Our own bbq will again be brought into use together with refreshments. Members are encouraged to make a full day of it with family and friends. Volunteers to lend a hand with setting up, during the day and in clearing up always welcome.

Field Awards. Best Plot and Best New Plot Holder - Cups & trophies will be awarded.

 

Produce Show. Cups, Trophies and Certificates. Trading Vouchers handed out to winning entries.

 

Work Party Volunteers. Vouchers handed out to all volunteers in recognition of their help during the four weekend work parties.

 

Bonfire, with restricted Fireworks and BBQ will be held on North Field.  Members and their families and friends are encouraged to come along to take part in and enjoy the late afternoon and early evening Prizegiving, Bonfire, Fireworks and Barbecue.
